British Cassis
Award-winning British Cassis
Our Cassis is produced by an expert team on the Whittern Estate, gloriously positioned on the Herefordshire/Welsh Border. The juice for our Cassis comes from blackcurrant bushes grown and farmed on the estate by my family for over three generations.
I am passionate about Blackcurrants (so much so I am the Chair of the Blackcurrant Foundation) and my Cassis showcases it in the most luxurious way possible.
We use 95% pressed fruit juice, a little champagne yeast and just the right amount of British sugar to sweeten. The result is an intense velvety colour and distinctive blackcurrant aroma and a flavour that is perfectly balanced in sweetness. It has an alcoholic content of 13% vol. It can simply be drunk as an aperitif but equally it mixes well for the perfect Kir Royale or party cocktail!
