Festival Place toasts ongoing partnership with Hampshire Fare
Basingstoke’s Festival Place Food Festival (July 16th & 17th) is a key event during this year’s county-wide Hampshire Food Festival, and is a positive outcome of the ongoing corporate partnership between county food group Hampshire Fare and one of the south’s leading shopping centres.
This is the third year that Festival Place in Basingstoke has renewed its sponsorship of Hampshire Fare, which organises the Hampshire Food Festival (July 1-31).
“We’re delighted to be working with Hampshire Fare again this year,” said Theresa Chapman, Festival Place Events Manager. “It allows us to demonstrate our support for local producers and work with some very interesting and knowledgeable people. The partnership also provides us with an additional and very effective way to spread the word about our own Festival Place Food Festival which takes place in July every year as part of the wider Hampshire Food Festival”.
This year celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson will be at the free Festival Place Food Festival on both Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July, showing how easy it is to cook simple seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients.
Joining Antony is wine expert and Mail on Sunday wine writer Olly Smith, who also presents Channel 4’s Secret Supper Club. Olly enthused: “I couldn’t be more delighted to take part in The Hampshire Food Festival. Bringing together local food producers and the local community is just glorious. Cheers!”.
Chairman of Hampshire Fare Mike Wright added: “Festival Place is a dynamic corporate partner of Hampshire Fare and we value greatly their ongoing sponsorship support. Their enthusiasm for creating high profile events for The Hampshire Food Festival is boundless, with the added bonus that many 1000’s of people can enjoy a terrific free day out with the focus on local food!”
The winners of the Festival Place Grand Charity Cook-off to be held the previous weekend on Saturday 9th July between teams from our Armed Forces, Basingstoke Street Pastors, Hampshire Fire Brigade and Hampshire Constabulary will also join Antony Worrall Thompson on Saturday 16th July.
Festival Place is also hosting a Cooking Masterclass on Friday evening 15th July, and there will be plenty of entertainment and activities for all the family as well as some great competitions to look out for on www.festivalplace.co.uk.
The Hampshire Food Festival runs across Hampshire with over 90 different events from July 1st-31st. Click on the link below for full details of all Hampshire Food Festival events. The free Festival programmes will be widely available across Hampshire from mid May.
