The Cross Keys
Built in the early eighteenth century and turned into an ale house only a few years later, we are situated on the top of a hill in an area of outstanding natural beauty amidst some of the best countryside and with one of the finest views from any pub in the south of England.
We are open from Tuesday evening through to Sunday Lunchtime, serving freshly prepared dishes. To accompany either a light lunch or more indulgent evening meal we offer Cask Marque accredited real ales including local breweries such as Hop Back (Salisbury), Three Castles (Pewsey), Anwell Brewery (Basingstoke) and a varied wine list including locally produced wine from Danebury Vineyard.
We are family and pet friendly with plenty of space in the gardens, including a childrens playground aswell as offering a childs menu and smaller roast portions during Sunday Lunch.
Accommodation is available in our four en-suite letting rooms either for a mid-week business trip, a quiet weekend break or a family get away with full english breakfast included.
We pride ourselves on all our food wherever possible being freshly prepared and sourcing from as many local suppliers as possible, often individual producers or small cottage firms. Our Head Chef Dean Peskett and his team have become known for their traditional fooked cooked well.
From Tuesday evenings to Saturday we offer our daily bar menu for lunch and dinner. In addition is our increasingly famous Pie Menu including the much loved Beef & Stilton, Steak and Ale or our renowned Game Pie, packed full of Partridge, Pigeon, Rabbit, Duck, Pheasant and Venison.
Sunday lunch is a favourite at The Cross Keys with our weekly changing traditional roasts (beef with homemade yorkshire puddings, roast haunch of venison, half roast chicken, roast lamb and roast pork) there are normally at least two roasts on the menu plus many other dishes and smaller portions for children.
