February
February is often a confusing month, with winter holding on as spring tries to make an entrance - spring-like days are often mixed up with snow and frosts, but as the days get lighter and longer winter begins to retreat. Still a time for comforting, warming food, there are plenty of seasonal brassicas on offer - kale and savoy cabbage are still going strong - and the end of the game season my see rabbit and venison on the table. The first forced rhubarb will begin to appear in February, so why not finish Sunday lunch with rhubarb crumble and custard?
