We think everyone will benefit from being a member of BuyGB, no matter what your interest might be! Whether you are a galloping gourmet looking for an elusive ingredient or advice, or whether you are just looking for some ideas on what to do with the kids at the weekend - we believe BuyGB will grow into a useful resource for your local area wherever you are. It costs nothing to be a member, and we will never hand over your details to 3rd parties, so sign up and have a look round!
The Website
As a member, the website is your main port of call whatever you are looking for, and we've designed it so you can customise it to suit your needs. Your 'My BuyGB' home page will let you rearrange the content to match your interests, and you can add or remove channels whenever you like. You can also bookmark your favourite things as you browse the site - you can add anything you like to your favourites from articles, recipes, products and profiles, and you can comment on anything you find in the site, helping others (and us!) to understand what's good and what's not so good!
Update Email
Once the site has launched properly, you can choose to receive our regular personalised email update. Every email we send is personalised to you, the individual member, so it will only include events, products and news relevant to your interests and your exact location. You can opt in or out at any time, but if you are not subscribed you may miss out on special offers and vouchers from shops, pubs, restaurants and places of interest near you!
Get involved and make money!
To really make BuyGB work, we need your help as well. Although we're doing our best to contact as many companies as we can that you might be interested in, we can't beat your local knowledge and experience. That's why we want to pay you to help us! simply print out a customised flyer from the tools in your My BuyGB area and hand it out to your favourite local producers - they get to sign up for free (saving them up to £200pa) and we will pay you a commission on every sale they make through the site! iPhone and mobile applications
Once we have enough feedback from you, the member, and our producers we will be able to finalise our mobile applications package. Soon you will be able to use the directories and pick up vouchers, news and events directly from your iPhone or PDA / mobile device. We're hoping to release the iPhone app in a few months, so let us know if there is anything you want us to include.
Special offers and discounts
Aside from the discounts, offers and vouchers you will receive through the website and the regular email, we are also negotiating concessions and special offers on your behalf. As our membership grows, so will our ability to find special offers for you - and the more you use the site, the more we will be able to understand what sort of deals and concessions you might be interested in. We will never give your details to another company, so don't worry about being spammed with offers you are not interested in! We hate those sites that start sending you sales spam from hundreds of companies you aren't interested in, so we're not going to become one!
